Neika Morgan, M.A.
Neika Morgan received her bachelor's degree in public relations with a minor in nutrition from The University of Alabama, and, upon graduation, joined Gulf States Paper Company (now The Westervelt Company) in Tuscaloosa where she served as corporate communication specialist, internal communication specialist, and events coordinator for five years. During that time, she also became an American Council on Exercise certified personal trainer and served as the trainer to the University's Crimson Cabaret dance team for three years. She has taught group aerobics at the University's Student Recreation Center and worked as a personal trainer with clients ranging from ages 18 to 80.
In 2009, Neika received her master's degree in health education/health promotion from the Capstone and embarked on a 10-year career as health educator, health coach, and associate wellness specialist for St. Vincent's Health System. In this role, she worked with both clinical and non-clinical associates, as well as professional organizations, companies, and businesses in the southeast to promote health and well-being.
She returned to the University in 2016 as adjunct instructor and advisor for the Department of Kinesiology where she eventually held the roles of head faculty advisor, instructor of KIN 300, program coordinator, and as the faculty liason for the recruitment of prospective students. She began her role as faculty instructor and academic advisor for the Department of Health Science in the fall of 2022 and currently teaches HHE 270 and HHE 378.
Neika has also served as an instructor for Shelton State Community College's Health Science Department, lead instructor of CPR/AED/FA for the American Heart Association and American Red Cross, and prenatal instructor for Grandview Hospital in Birmingham, Ala.
Neika's interests include preventive health with an emphasis on women's health, skin cancer prevention and screening, nutrition, physical activity and exercise, and prenatal health.
